It’s so easy for teams to grow accustomed to hearing (and ignoring) counsel from their own experts. When a fresh voice is brought in, it can break through the noise.
An outside expert can be a way to get a message across in a way an internal expert can’t.
While I think the term “thought leadership” is cringey, it probably best describes what we’re talking about here. Think TED talk catered to the challenges you’re facing.
